NGL Biathlon 2027 comes out in November 2026. This page collects how it differs from the 2026 edition: what appears for the first time and what has been reworked. We will keep adding to it. The bigger topics end with a link to a detailed article

New physics

We rebuilt the athlete's physics from scratch. Speeds and forces on the course are closer to what you see in the real World Cup, the controls are more precise, and the athlete skids in corners far less often than in 2026

Slipstream

For the first time you can tuck in behind a rival. Catch up, hold the slipstream key, and your athlete moves in behind them and matches their pace. Your main stamina is not spent during that time; a separate reserve is used instead. There is one reserve per race and it does not refill, though descents do not use it up. Burn it on the first lap and you go without it on the last

A rival you can tuck in behind is marked by a trail from their skis. In the settings, the Slipstream Hint row swaps the trail for a glow behind the rival or turns it off. The slipstream key can be rebound

Bots tuck in behind others too and pick whom to follow. If a bot sits on your tail, a long superboost shakes it off. More in Skiing stats, boost and superboost, and you can try it in the Slipstream lesson of the Tutorial

Bots follow their own racing line

In 2026 the bots followed points placed along the track by hand, split into three lanes. In 2027 every track has a single continuous racing line recorded from a live run: we skied the course ourselves as an athlete, and that path became the trajectory. It is shorter and more efficient than the old layout

A bot holds this line, and if it gets pushed aside during an overtake or in a crowd, it finds its way back. It overtakes when there is room ahead and a reason to pass, so the group stays in a tight pack. When to speed up is also the bot's own decision

A career calendar closer to the real one

The order of races in a career season is built from the calendars of recent World Cup seasons:

  • The World Cup opening is always the same: single mixed relay, mixed relay, short individual, sprint, pursuit and the standard relay
  • The season finale in every league is a sprint, a pursuit and a mass start
  • The mixed and single mixed relays sit next to each other at a World Cup stage, as in real life, and the standard relay is separated from them by individual races

Relays in the lower leagues

In 2026 career relays existed only in the World Cup. Now each league has its own set: all three in the World Cup, the mixed and single mixed relays in the WBU Cup, the single mixed relay in the Europe Cup, and only individual races in the Juniors Cup. A league championship has the same relays as that league's season

A national team is drawn from its own league, and if there are not enough athletes, the missing ones come from the league below. When the mixed and single mixed relays share a stage and you make both teams, the Two relays at one stage screen opens before the first race, and you choose which one to ski

The single mixed relay now has proper handover rules: the athlete finishes standing shooting and hands over to the partner straight away, with no lap between the range and the exchange. The lap after standing shooting remains only on the last leg. More in Relays and Race formats

Season statistics in the career

The career has a new Statistics section: tables for your league in the current season. It opens after the first race of the season. There are thirteen tabs: Skiing, Accuracy, By Range, Laps, Records, Shooting speed, Breakdown, If clean, Losses, Miss cost, Duel, Profile and Progress

New interface

The whole menu has been made from scratch. The main menu now sits on the side, the career has its own season screen, and the standings and athlete selection in quick race were reworked to match

Weather and night lighting

We rebuilt the weather. Instead of three options there are now five: no precipitation, snow, heavy snow, fog and dense fog. Snow looks closer to what you see on TV broadcasts, and fog is no longer the same in every direction and has more depth. At night the stadium and the course are lit by lamps and floodlights. How the game picks the weather and why it matters for your skis is covered in Tracks and weather

Tutorial

The main menu has a new Tutorial section: six short lessons on skiing, the tuck on descents, boost, superboost, slipstream and shooting. On first launch the game offers to take it. More in The tutorial

Gamepad and rebinding

The whole race and every menu can be played with a gamepad, and the on-screen hints switch to its buttons on their own. Keys and buttons are rebound in Settings, on the Controls tab. More in Controls and gamepad

Advanced difficulty

The difficulty level can be split into parts. In Settings, under Difficulty, turn on Advanced difficulty and set bot skiing difficulty, bot shooting speed and your own shooting difficulty separately. For example, if the bots feel fair on the course but too fast at the range, you can lower only their shooting speed. Online, one level applies to everyone and advanced difficulty does not apply. Realistic time

Settings have a new Realistic time row. With it, the on-screen clock runs like a real race, gaps look believable, and in individual-start races athletes set off 30 seconds apart. The race itself lasts as long as before. The setting is off by default and does not exist online

Two new tracks

There are two new tracks: Soldier Hollow in the USA and Canmore in Canada. That makes fifteen, and the full list is in Tracks and weather

Achievements and track records

The main menu has a new Achievements section. Next to it is Track Records: the five best times of your athletes on every track in every individual race, from quick races, tournaments, career and online
